HTA’S RECENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS
HTA completed quite a few projects in 2012:
Primary Projects
- Completed the Silver Creek connector link of the Fraser to Granby Trail thanks to a grant from the Sprout Fund of the Grand Foundation
- Collaborated with Grand County, the Town of Fraser and Fraser Valley Metropolitan Recreation District (FVMRD) to complete the Peterson Project, bringing the start of the Fraser to Granby Trail into the Town of Fraser and completing the final link of the Fraser to Granby Trail!
- Began updates to the HTA Master Plan
Other projects
- Moved HTA offices into the old Fraser Visitor Center
- Printed 20,000 updated Grand County Trail Maps
- Continued to develop the East Shore Trail project
- Added a “Trails Updates” page to keep trail users informed of US Forest closures due to pine beetle tree mitigation
- Collaborated with Town of Winter Park on construction of the Leland Creek Trail and the Denver Water Board Trails
- Organized the 3rd annual Run the Ranches trail run series
- Participated in Grand County’s 2012 National Public Lands Day
- Collaborated with US Forest Service on Upper Elk Creek Loop trail, now with a new bridge, and loop completion
- Took part in Fraser Elementary School’s Charity & Change Project
- Advocated for continued dedicated Recreational Trails Program funding for the State of Colorado
