Earth Day is Just One Reminder to Take Care of Our Planet
"There is a growing body of research demonstrating the mental and physical health benefits of spending time in nature. In Colorado, our public lands are a place where we can go to improve our health and well-being and perhaps even add years to our lives." -Eric Washburn, The Colorado Sun

With the annual celebration of Earth Day, we are given just one subtle reminder of why we need to care for our planet and public lands. At this point, we cannot overlook the obvious mental and physical health benefits of spending time in the natural world. In the midst of the Coronavirus Pandemic, this year's Earth Day becomes even more important. In a time where we are all asked to stay home, the outdoors seem to be the only thing keeping us sane. On this Earth Day, please consider the importance of our natural spaces and what they mean to your health and well-being. If we cannot preserve these places now, we are depriving future generations of vital health resources and natural heritage.
