Grand County's 28th Annual National Public Lands Day
September 24, 2022 @ 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
Grand County’s 28th annual National Public Lands Day is the largest and longest-running NPLD event in the country. This will be our largest and most productive volunteer day of the season with multiple projects throughout the county. There will be projects spanning multiple different land management agencies including the US Forest Service, National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, and local municipalities. Specific projects are listed below.
The USFS Project will involve Post Fire Recovery work reconstructing buck n' rail fencing that burned in the East Troublesome Fire in the Stillwater Pass area. The BLM projects will entail a river cleanup event starting at Pumphouse and a trail project constructing a 130-foot long turnpike on the Back to Reality Trail in the Phases. Rocky Mountain National Park will be continuing work on extending a turnpike on the Tonahutu/Turkey Spur Trail with volunteers. The Town of Winter Park will have a volunteer project restoring tread and touching up berms and jumps on Razzmatazz. The Town of Fraser will have a volunteer project restaining bridges on the Fraser River Trail.
