In the late 1980s I got a “free” mtn bike when we bought a new stereo system. That got the
family riding our Grand County (GC) trails and upgrading that original bike. As development
occurred some trail access was being denied. The community met and Fraser Valley Partnership
for Trails (FVPT) was created as a county wide all user group. I was one of the founding board
members. FVPT helped organize the first Public Lands Appreciation Day (now NPLD), built the
Givelo trail, stepped up the adopt a trail program and started the Fraser to Granby trail.
The FVPT board pushed to get HTA established and eventually we deactivated FVPT. After a few
years I felt it was logical for me to join the HTA board and help keep our trails for all to enjoy.
Hiking, biking, skiing and traveling are passions that keep me active.
